Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Christine Iliff, one of our amazing Medical Writing associates. Read our Q&A with her below!
Where are you from?
I grew up in Nebraska, but moved to Arizona in high school. I attended the University of Arizona for undergrad, then Washington State University for vet school. After graduation, I moved back to Arizona for four years, then Wisconsin for 17. I moved back to Arizona three years ago.
How long have you worked at Synterex?
One year.
What is your favorite thing about the company?
I love the sense of a close-knit, family environment. It feels like everyone is willing to go the extra mile to help each other succeed.
How did you get into the medical writing field?
Luck! Synterex posted a job opening for an Operations Associate. I had been looking for a way to expand my career beyond clinical veterinary practice for quite a while. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to get in with a company that was willing to take a chance on someone with less direct experience, but a lot of medical knowledge.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The constant challenge. I learn something new every day.
What accomplishment are you most proud of (either in your current role or life in general)?
I am proud that I was able to take this leap into the relative unknown of a new career after 20+ years in my previous field. I don’t regret it a bit.
What are some of the hobbies/interests you’re most passionate about?
I love to be outdoors, camping, kayaking, hiking. But my greatest passion is travel – anywhere, anytime!
